10 / 15 Facades and shopfronts

Frameless glass.

Tempered glass held by patch fittings, spider arms or floor channels, with almost no frame in sight.

A pale glass wall with a glass door set into it, almost no frame in sight.

01What it is

Frameless glass, explained.

Frameless glass does away with the frame. Thick tempered panes are held at their corners by patch fittings or spider arms, or clamped into a channel along the floor, and the joints between them are left open or sealed with clear silicone.

It is used where the glass should disappear: shopfronts, entrances, glass balustrades and double-height lobbies.

Where it suits

  • Shopfronts and showroom entrances
  • Balconies and stair balustrades
  • Lobbies with double-height glass
