Louvres.
Glass louvre windows and aluminium louvre screens that let air through and keep sun and rain out.

01What it is
Louvres, explained.
Louvres come in two kinds. A louvre window has adjustable glass blades in an aluminium frame, turned by a handle to let air in while the rain runs off the blades.
A louvre screen has fixed aluminium blades set at an angle. It hides what should not be seen, such as air-conditioner units, service yards and water tanks, and lets them breathe.
