01What it is
Thermal-break frames, explained.
Aluminium carries heat well, so an ordinary frame on a sunny wall warms the room behind it. A thermal-break frame is made in two halves, inside and outside, joined by a strip of insulating polyamide that heat crosses slowly.
The difference shows most in air-conditioned rooms: less heat comes in through the frame, and the inside face stays warm enough that it does not run with condensation.
